Why as teachers, are we reluctant to ask for help?
CONSTANT CHANGES IN THE EDUCATION WORLD!
In the world of education, teaching often feels like being on a hamster wheel, trying to keep up with the constant changes in student needs, societal expectations and government decisions. For the well-being of our students, we often take on more than the teacher role, because for some children, we are the only person that they feel most safe, trusted and loved with.
With constant changes and added responsibilities, we naturally become overwhelmed trying to balance an increasing workload which consequently intensifies stress levels. A study on Alberta teachers (Alberta Education, 2015) revealed that 91% of teachers were dissatisfied with their workload! Despite the pressures of teaching that are accumulated from educational changes and heavy workloads, teachers are reluctant to ask for help.
Is it because teachers want to be a superhero by single-handedly dealing with their challenges? Or is it because of the lack of support available for teachers?

The truth, is that there is limited support for teachers to be professionally guided through their challenges.
